Bowls in Times Square

Don't know what to do tomorrow? Go meet strangers in Times Square! After all, it's summer in New York! It means crowds and crowds everywhere you go, and in Times Square it is not different. Haven't you ever try to imagine how the cereal feels in your breakfast time? Here is your chance!
The Times Square Alliance has teamed up with Spanish collaborative mmmm to create a social space for people to gather and chat, promoting dialogue and good old fashioned friendliness in the Big Apple.
This month, why not take a break and hang out in a Meeting Bowl?
They are street furniture and a part of an experiment to facilitate spontaneous interactions and dialogue right in the middle of the chaos it is in Times Square with its thousands of tourists.

Times Square Alliance’s public art program works with new and innovative artists to help keep Times Square clean, safe, and enjoyable.
The three giant bowls gently rock to provide a mild floating sensation, and each bowl can seat up to eight adults. Made of fiber board, the bowls are at the same time intimate, yet remain open to the views of the city.

Visitors are invited to take pictures to upload to their Facebook page.

Meeting Bowls is on view until September 16th.
